The latest on the revisions to the FLSA
On March 14, the DOL sent the OMB (Office of Budget and Management) its final changes for determining which workers are entitled to overtime pay.
After a review period, which could be as long as several months or as short as a few weeks the final rule will be published in the Federal Register and take effect within 60 days of publication.
Lots of politics involved . . . the current administration is trying to get it in before it could be overridden by a potential Republican administration. (Under the Congressional Review Act, a joint resolution from both houses of Congress and the President can undo laws and rules passed during the final 60 legislative days of the previous Congress).
